November and December have been a little empty compared to the other months! The horses have been on holiday and I have been getting on with my university work.
At the beginning of November I took my A test care for the pony club. I had been trying to fit in as much revision for it as I could and I drove myself and my best friend Sarah Hollett, who was also taking it, to the place where the test was being held. Our hard work all paid off because we were the only ones to pass but more than anything we were pleased we wouldn’t have to take it again.
After I got my A test out of the way I tried to get on with all of my University work. I had quite a few essays to do and be handed in before the end of term, I worked really hard on them because although the results from my first year at Uni don’t count towards my final degree they set you up well for the next year so I wanted to get into practice. I have now got the results from my essays back and I have done really well in them so I am really pleased and will be working just as hard in the Spring term to try to get the same results.
The BE Ball was also held in November, I went with my family and boyfriend and it was a really good evening. The theme was 007, there was a casino and an Ice sculpture that had the 007 theme. There was a sit down dinner followed by the awards and then a disco! I had a really good time and the awards were really well presented.
At the beginning of December I attended the awards presentation at Sussex Uni where I was presented with the Bursary at Sussex for my sporting achievements and to help me in the future. This financial support will be really helpful but there are also benefits for me to be utilised at Uni which will also help.
We bought two new horses that were 6 turning 7 to start eventing in 2008. They are called Legs and Junior and they both arrived a few days before Christmas. Neither have evented before but both have a lot of potential so we shall see how they start off at their events next year, but I am really excited about them and think that they will both be very good!
I spent Christmas with my family, it was really nice we had Grandparents, Aunties and Uncles over and had a big Christmas lunch. I mucked out and rode all of the horses in the morning so had a nice relaxed afternoon after eating far too much for lunch! Preparations have now started for the season ahead and all the horses have come back from holiday feeling well rested and ready for 2008!
